The Challenge Rules

The Challenge:
Get at least 30 minutes of exercise four days per week for TWELVE weeks beginning Sunday, 1/30.  Earn a point for each day (up to 6 points/week only because everyone needs an occasional day off).

The Commitment:
Put your money where your mouth is and send in $25 for the Challenge.  If you complete the Challenge with at least 48 points, you will get $20 back!  (The remaining $5 of your commitment will go into the Challenge Pot.)  

The Penalty:
For any week that you do not meet the 4 day a week commitment, there will be a penalty.
  • If you work out 2-3 days that week, you will owe $1 into the Challenge Pot.
  • If you work out 0-1 day that week, you will owe $5 into the Challenge Pot.

In addition, if you don’t reach the 48 point minimum (4 points per week multiplied by 12 weeks) by the end of the Challenge, you will forfeit your original $20 into the Challenge Pot.

Please note that I will not be collecting excuses on why you couldn’t work out each week.  Your health is your priority!  So, regardless of work schedules, vacation schedules, sicknesses, etc., this is a non-refundable commitment.

Tracking the Competition:
Every Sunday, email me with the number of days that you exercised the week (Sun-Sat) before.   A blog will be created for all Challengers where we can review one another’s weekly progress and share tips on better living and eating.

Bonus Points: 
There will be the occasional opportunity to benefit from a surprise BONUS POINT to keep things interesting.  Bonus points will be designed to encourage you to try something new.   

WEEK ONE’S BONUS POINT - KICK OFF FUN RUN:  We’ll have a kick-off 3 mile (30 minute) Challenge Run on Sunday, 1/30 at 10am so that you can also meet some fellow Challengers!  

The Winner:
At the end of the Challenge, the Challenger(s) with the most points will earn (or split) 75% of the proceeds from the Challenge Pot.  (The remaining 25% will be donated to Hearts with Haiti.)

Everyone else who just stuck with the minimum of the program and earned only 48 points…will still feel pretty damn good about him/herself.  Always happens!
